Move with your cycle, not against it
Your energy isn't supposed to be flat across the month — it has seasons. Here's how to match your movement to each one.
One of the kindest things you can learn about your body is that your energy has seasons. The workout that feels effortless mid-cycle can feel impossible the week before your period — and that's not weakness, that's rhythm. Here's how to move with it.
Menstrual phase — honour the pause
Energy is naturally at its lowest. Choose gentle walking, restorative yoga, or simple stretching. Rest is not a failure of discipline; it is part of the training plan.
Follicular phase — build again
As your period ends, energy begins to rise. Light cardio, strength training and dance meet your body where it is — motivated, but still warming up.
Ovulation — your peak window
Around the middle of your cycle, your body is at its strongest. If you love intensity — HIIT, running, cycling, a hard group class — this is its home.
Luteal phase — taper with grace
As energy naturally softens toward your next period, shift to yoga, Pilates, swimming or lighter strength work. You are not losing fitness; you are respecting the taper your body asked for.
Pair your movement with your seeds, your sleep and a little daily stillness — the four pillars work best as a team.
